As with most churches, Origin started out small. But in our meager beginnings, we learned that there were some things we were forced to do at first that we did not desire to change. One, our children sit with us during the main service. We do not provide a what many call “Children’s Church”, and here is why. Worship and teaching should be a family experience. A parent should never need to reminisce about their child-rearing years and not remember ever singing with their children, or sharing a bible during a teaching. These are opportunities to be embraced. Unfortunately, our culture is slowly turning “church” into a time when parents can drop their kids off and have a break for a couple of hours. We are missing it.
At Origin, we do have class for our younger kids which starts at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday evenings. We also have a time of teaching a fellowship for our teens over pizza each week at a restaurant next door. Getting community exposure is important! Afterwards, we gather together for the corporate services.
Please consider joining us and by all means – bring your kids!
